The man behind the campaign to score Nirvana a Christmas Number One with ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ has played down his chances of success – along with dismissing the hopes of their X Factor-winning rivals Little Mix.
Jon Morter, who also started 2009′s campaign to make Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing In The Name’ Christmas Number One believes that Military Wives Choir’s ‘Wherever You Are’ will take the top spot.
He said:
I think it’s going be a lot tougher than the Rage Against The Machine campaign, which was bloody hard. There’s a lot more at stake. The Military Wives single has got a very big amount of pre-orders. In complete honesty, I think that’s the one to keep an eye out for, more than the actual X-Factor.

It’s pretty close to being finished, but it kind of depends on how we all feel about it. We definitely have enough songs for an album, but what happens with Soundgarden is, when we get close to being finished, then a whole bunch of ideas always come in, under the wire.
