La banda ha elegido nueva bajista. La elegida es una argentina llamada Paz Lenchantin, y será quien acompañará a la banda en su nueva gira, después de la salida de la bajista mítica de la banda, Kim Shattuck. Nacionalizada en Estados Unidos desde hace varios años, Lenchantin, con 39 años se hizo conocida por su participación en bandas como A Perfect Circle o el proyecto en solitario de Billy Corgan, Zwan. En una entrevista se pudo leer que:
«Estamos con muchas ganas de tocar con ella en estas fechas. Trabajar con diferentes bajistas es nuevo para la banda, pero lo estamos pasando muy bien haciéndolo».
Pixies realizará 33 fechas en Estados Unidos, además de su gira por Europa e incluyendo un tour por Latinoamérica.

The band has chosen A new bassist. The choice is called Paz Lenchantin, a girl from Argentina, and she will accompany the band on their new tour, after the departure of the legendary bassist, Kim Shattuck. Nationalized in the United States, Lenchantin, 39, became known for his involvement in bands like A Perfect Circle or the solo project of Billy Corgan, Zwan. In an interview we can rea:
«We want play with her. Working with different bassists we are new thing to the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.»

Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Muse, Pixies, y Jake Bugg tocarán en el Lollapalooza Brasil 2014. Lollapalooza no hará oficial la Line-up hasta finales de mes. La mayoría de las bandas tocarán en los Lollapalooza de Chile y Argentina también.
Lollapalooza Brazil 2014 tendrá lugar en el Autódromo José Carlos Pace, conocido por su antiguo nombre, Interlagos, en São Paulo.

The Pixies han lanzado un nuevo EP llamado «EP-1″ a través de su página web PixiesMusic.com. Hay una edición limitada de vinilo de 10 pulgadas (5000 copias en todo el mundo) que viene junto con una camiseta y 4 dólares de descarga digital. Gil Norton es quien ha producido el EP.
