El hombre principal de Foo Fighters Dave Grohl recientemente escribió una nota a los fans en la página oficial de los Foo Fighters, agradecimiendoo a los fans su dedicación y apoyo durante la banda en los tiempos recientes, que cada vez son peores. Grohl también mencionó que él ya está pensando en el próximo álbum de Foo Fighters y ahora, las cosas han ido un paso más allá y Grohl se ha reunido con el productor de Wastingh Light (Y Nevermind) Butch Vig para tener una idea de algunos demos!
Butch Vig twitteó la confirmación de su reunión con Grohl (20 de diciembre) la semana pasada: «Pasé todo el día ayer con Dave en 606 escuchando nuevas demostraciones, algunas son grandes canciones nuevas!» ¿Próximo álbum de Foo Fighters’, una vez más, estará producido por el Sr. Vig? Este tweet es una buena indicación. Según el viejo adagio, si no ha roto, ¿por qué arreglarlo?
En la nota citada de Grohl, realmente se insinua otro álbum producido por Butch Vig y que él fue el principal factor para el éxito del Wasting Ligth. Afirmó que, «sobre todo, hemos querido [el disco] que tenga un sonido enorme: es por eso que decidimos utilizar a Butch Vig. Su papel en toda esta experiencia es enorme, y merece un gran ‘gracias’, también. No muchos productores aceptaría el reto que le entregamos. Él es el mejor, seguro. Juntos, hicimos el álbum de su vida. Nuevamente».
Añadió que los Foos son, «No están terminados aún. Hay todavía más espectáculos para tocar, más canciones para escribir, más discos para grabar, en los años venideros. Quiero decir……Si me hubiera dicho hace 17 años que en el 2012 estaría escribiendo canciones para nuestro album….bien… studio 8… Si no fuera por ustedes, nos estaría aquí.»

Foo Fighters main man Dave Grohl recently wrote a note to fans on the Foo Fighters’ official website, thanking them for their dedication and support during the band’s most recent, Wasting Light, run. Grohl also mentioned that he’s already thinking about the next Foo Fighters album, and now, things have gone a step further and Grohl has met with Wasting Light (and Nevermind) producer Butch Vig to get a feel for some demos!
Butch Vig tweeted confirmation of his meeting with Grohl last week (Dec. 20): “Spent all day yesterday with Dave at 606 listening to new demos, some great new songs!” Does this mean Foo Fighters’ next album, once again, will have production by Mr. Vig? This tweet is a good indication. As the old adage goes, if it’s not broken, why fix it?
In Grohl’s aforementioned note, he actually hinted at another Butch Vig-produced Foos album and gave the producer chief credit for the success of Wasting Light. He stated that, “most of all, we wanted [the album] to sound huge: That’s why we decided to use Butch Vig. His role in this whole experience is huge, and he deserves a great ‘thanks’, too. Not many producers would accept the challenge that we handed him. He’s the best, for sure. Together, we made the album of a lifetime. Again.”
He added that the Foos are, “not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean…..If you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our 8th studio album….well…..
