Butch Vig se pasó ayer por los estudios de la KROQ (vía Alternative Nation) para hablar de los planes futuros de Garbage y el trabajo que está haciendo con el nuevo disco de Foo Fighters.
Espero terminar el (trabajo) de Foos para finales de junio y probablemente volver al estudio y terminar el álbum de Garbage para Acción de Gracias. El año próximo será un gran año para Garbage. Es nuestro vigésimo aniversario así que habrá una gran gira y un nuevo álbum y algunas otras cosas especiales en las que estamos trabajando para, de algún modo, celebrar nuestro aniversario.
En cuanto a su trabajo en el nuevo disco de Foo Fighters que, como sabemos, parece ser se ha ido grabando en distintos estudios del mundo, no da demasiadas pistas.
Lo hemos encarado de manera bastante diferente. Nunca he hecho un disco así. No sé si nadie ha hecho antes algo así. Le hemos metido el factor x ahí – forzándonos a ser espontáneos y estar al máximo nivel. Así que ha sido un reto divertido.

Butch Vig discussed upcoming Foo Fighters and Garbage albums in an interview on KROQ yesterday.
Garbage has currently been working on their sixth studio album for about six months and they have dramatic plans for next year, the band’s 20th anniversary together. Vig says that they have about twenty song ideas “in the can.”
“I’m hoping to finish the Foos [Foo Fighters] by the end of June and probably go back into the studio and finish the Garbage album by Thanksgiving, ” said Vig. “Next year is going to be a big year for Garbage. It’s our 20th anniversary. So, there’ll be a big tour and a new album and some other special things that we’re working on to sort of celebrate our anniversary.”
He’s being even more vague about his work with the Foo Fighters, but says they’ve recorded for a while “if you include pre-production.”
“We’ve taken an approach that is quite different.I’ve never made a record like this. I don’t know anyone who has,” hints Vig mysteriously. “We sort of through a x-factor into the process that is forcing all of us to be spontaneous as well as really have to be on your a-game. So it’s been a challenge and fun.” He makes sure to clarify that the songs, while containing some unknown equation that we will all eventually find out, are “great” and “sound epic.

Soundgarden han habilitado las reservas (formato digital / físico) de la reedición de “Superunknown”, que como sabéis, se pondrá a la venta el 3 de junio en CD, deluxe CD, doble LP en vinilo y caja Super Deluxe 4CDs/Blu-ray. Por otro lado, recordad que la banda tocará el álbum al completo el próximo miércoles en el iTunes Festival del South By SouthWest. Lo podremos ver a partir de las 10 CST (Central Standard Time).

Soundgarden have enabled reservations (digital / physical) for the re-issue of «Superunknown», which as you know, will be released on June 3 in CD, deluxe CD, double vinyl LP and Super Deluxe Box OF 4CDs/Blu- ray. On the other hand, remember that the band will play the album in full on Wednesday at the iTunes Festival of South By SouthWest.

Mientras Foo Fighters siguen trabajando en su nuevo disco, Taylor Hawkins tiene listo el debut de un nuevo proyecto: The Birds Of Satan.
El batería se acompaña de sus compañeros de Chevy Metal, su proyecto de covers de bandas como Black Sabbath o Van Galen, pero para hacer un disco de temas originales de rock progresivo. Se publicará el 15 de abril vía Shanabelle Records.
El álbum ha sido grabado en menos de una semana y cuenta con la ayuda de Dave Grohl y Pat Smear, el percusionista Drew Hester y el teclista Rami Jaffee.

While Foo Fighters are still working on his new album, Taylor Hawkins is ready to debut a new project: The Birds Of Satan.
Taylor is accompanied by his fellows of Chevy Metal, the project that covers bands like Black Sabbath and Van Galen, but this is to make an album of progressive rock originals songs. It will be published on April 15th via Shanabelle Records.
The album was recorded in less than a week and with the help of Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, percussionist Drew Hester and Rami Jaffee on keyboards.
