Dave Grohl says new Queens of the Stone Age album will “surprise you”

En una charla exclusiva con Artrocker en su Studio 606 en Los Ángeles Dave Grohl nos contó que lo nuevo de Queens of the Stone Age va a «sorprender».
Cuando se le preguntó acerca de su contribución al álbum y sobre cuándo podremos empezar a escuchar este tan esperado seguimiento al álbum de 2007 ‘Era Vulgaris’, Grohl respondió: «No lo sé, yo simplemente toqué la batería, llevo sin saber de Josh más o menos desde hace un mes. »
Pero Grohl fue más específico cuando trató de decir cómo sonaba el disco «La grabación de Queens es bastante grande, hombre. Os va a sorprender, no es lo que os imagináis que va a ser, es mejor. Está bien. »

In an exclusive chat with Artrocker at his 606 Studio in LA Dave Grohl proclaimed that the new Queens of the Stone Age album will «surprise you».
When asked about his contribution to the album and when we can expect to hear this long-awaited follow-up to the band’s 2007 album ‘Era Vulgaris’, Grohl quizzically replied: «I don’t know! I played drums on it and I haven’t heard from Josh in about a month.»
But Grohl was more certain when it came to his thoughts on how the album’s sounding: The Queens record’s pretty great, man. It’ll surprise you, it’s not what you would imagine it to be, it’s better. It’s cool.»

The Melvins are releasing what they call an «unconventional covers album,» adapting songs from artists like Queen and David Bowie as their own. Here’s one of their first offerings from that album, called Everybody Loves Sausages, a cover of Queen’s «You’re My Best Friend,» with guest vocals from Caleb Benjamin of Tweak Bird. The Melvins–along with Melvins Lite, which pairs frontman Buzz Osborne and drummer Dale Crover with musician Trevor Dunn—are touring soon (lotta shows in Germany, definitely playing up the sausage-loving angle), and you can listen to the cover below.
