En una nueva entrevista con la cadena de radio de San Diego, 94/9, Scott Weiland reveló que el título de su tercer disco en solitario es Blaster. Dijo que empezó a escribir el ábum en su cabaña en Washington el año pasado, y que mientras estaba en el proceso de escribir decidió que su banda necesitba estar compuesta por cuatro piezas, así podría haber más espacio en la música. Weiland dijo que fue duro echar a Doug Grean, ya que han sido amigos desde hace mucho tiempo y han construído incluso un estudio juntos.
Weiland dijo, «Tuve que llamarlo y decirle que habíamos hecho una gran decisión: siento decírtelo, pero vamos a seguir como una banda de cuatro componentes.»
Afirmó que el nuevo álbum tendrá un aire de garage indie rock. También dijo que si «Core» o los primeros discos de Alice In Chains hubiesen sido lanzados hoy hubieran tenido el mismo éxito, pero cree que Nirvana los hubiera hecho sombra.

In a new interview with San Diego’s FM 94/9, Scott Weiland revealed that the title of his third solo album is Blaster. He said they began writing the album at his cabin in Washington last year, and that as the writing process went on he decided that his band needed to be a four piece, so that there could be more space in the music. Weiland said it was tough to let Doug Grean go, as he had been his longtime friend and they’d built a studio together.
Weiland said, “I had to call him up and tell him that we made a big decision, and I’m sorry to tell you, but we’re going to go on as a four piece.”
He claimed that the new album will have a more garage indie rock vibe. He also said that if Core or Alice In Chains’ early records were released today they would have had the same success, but he thinks Nirvana would still make it regardless.
